Sound Quality:

SOUNDBOKS Gen 3 is a large speaker that weighs around 15kg.  It has poplar cabinet that is covered with powder coated grille. although it has built-in handle, the speaker is still heavy to carry. You can place it on the ground or mount it on pole of tripod. The built-in hole helps in this case. On the corner of the speaker, you will see silicone balls that are used for extra protection.

Although it doesn’t have any IP rating, the manufacturer claims the internal electronics to be splashproof. The speaker is quite durable and has good built.

Driver Specifications:

It has 2 10” woofers and a 1” tweeter inside the speaker.

Performance:

SOUNDBOKS Gen 3 is an expensive Bluetooth speaker that can get ‘crazy loud’. It is not needed to tune up the speaker to 100% volume for most cases which might otherwise show artifacts. It has decent soundfield and good dynamics. It shows clarity, details and can fill up large spaces. There is a Pulse Reflex Port in the speaker that boosts up the low ends.

The speaker can play music or vocal-heavy content with good clarity. Bass heads will love this speaker as it has punchier low ends. This Bluetooth party speaker shows crisp and clear mids and highs. It has a V-shaped sound profile and is designed for large gatherings.

Ease of use:

You can choose one from Engage Bass+, Power, Indoor modes, or use the EQ options to adjust the sound. The mobile app is handy and easy to use. At 50% of volume level, the speaker can run up to 40 hours. In case you boost it up to 100% volume, it can run for 5 hours. The battery charges within only 3.5 hours.

Along with Bluetooth, the speaker has 3.5 mm in and out, and 2 XLR in. Unfortunately like other loudest Bluetooth speakers, it doesn’t support multiple pairing so switching between devices isn’t possible.

Quality

SOUNDBOKs Go is a compact speaker that weighs 9.2kg. Although it is not lightweight, still the speaker is easy to carry. It has a handle, and you can also include a carrying strap. It is made of ABS + Polycarbonate cabinet and grill. The electronics have IP65 rating.

Driver specifications

The speaker has a single 1” tweeter and a 10” woofer driver in it.

Performance

In case you are a fan of SOUNDBOKS but seek a loud Bluetooth speaker at reasonable price, the SOUNDBOKS Go is for you. The SOUNDBOKS Go can get very loud but not as much as the Gen 3. Still, we think its adequate enough for large crowds. In case you play the speaker in your backyard, it might poke the neighbors as well.

This model has the main intention of being loud while lowering distortion. The speaker has a forward sounding treble and tight bass. Music is enjoyable with this model and if you want stereo sound, make sure to pair two of them. Although it has a poor soundstage, we think its alright as the speaker isn’t made for movies. While partying, enable the Power EQ for best performance.

It has TeamUP feature that allows you to connect to 4 extra speakers. It is compatible with another SOUNDBOKs Go or Gen 3 models. To ensure synchronization and minimize latency between the speakers, SKAA mode helps.

Ease of use

The speaker has good control options including volume, JOIN, SOLO/HOST and BOND button. At mid volume levels, the speaker runs for 40 hours. If you play it at max volume, you can use it for 10 hours. The battery takes 3.5 hours to charge. Use the mobile app to adjust settings like Custom EQ, Bass+, Power, Indoor sound profiles.

Pros

Cons

  • Louder
  • 3.5mm port

Quality

JBL PartyBox 100 is smaller than the 310 model. It weighs 9.8kg and isn’t very portable. It has built-in handles but loses the wheels that are available in 310 model. For this weight, you won’t need the wheels anyway. Build quality is decent with plastic body and metal grille.

It has rubber feet, and the handle is rubberized as well. The front has two RGB light rings and there are several patterns to choose from. It is one of the loudest Bluetooth speakers under $300.

Driver specification

The speaker has two front-firing woofers and two tweeters. It has output power of 160W, but this is when the speaker is plugged in. When you are running this on battery, it gives out 100W.

Performance

Comparing JBL PartyBox 310 vs 100, the 310 is louder but the JBL 100 is still capable of producing room-filling sound. JBL PartyBox is a good sounding speaker that shows balanced sound profile if you can adjust the settings correctly. Although for best results, it is better to keep the speaker plugged in, the loud sound produced through internal battery is satisfactory as well.

To produces deep and detailed sound with clarity when Bass Boost is enabled. This speaker has broad soundstage with clear vocals. So, in case you want a party speaker for watching videos or movies, JBL PartyBox 100 is one of the loudest Bluetooth speakers out there. It can handle all types of contents with ease.

Ease of use

Multiple physical controls are available including Bass Boost, Mic Echo option, Bluetooth, volume, etc. Unlike other Bluetooth speakers, it doesn’t have any mobile app. So, you need to rely on physical controls. It’s battery life is up to 12 hours and charging time is 6.5 hours. Similar to JBL 310 PartyBox speaker, it has TWS that allows to connect 2 speakers.

Pros

Cons

  • Intuitive physical controls
  • Bass Boost option
  • TWS feature
  • Quite loud
  • Good soundstage
  • No EQ.

Quality:

The top of the speaker has a water-resistant compartment inside which you can charge your phone or place belongings like keys or wallet to keep them safe. On the front side there is another USB charger but that is for fast charging. The aesthetics is improved further with bright lights. It has IPX5 rating, so it is water-resistant but doesn’t have protection against dust.

The speaker is portable with long handle and wheels to easily carry it outside. It is made of good quality plastic and covered by metal grilles. It feels sturdy and durable. Input ports are protected with rubber flaps.

Driver specifications:

It has 8” woofer and three 3” tweeters in the speaker.

Performance:

If you don’t have surround speakers and need an all-in-one solution, ION Pathfinder 280 is the best Bluetooth speaker. It can get very loud while maintaining accuracy. Although there is a Boom button for extended bass, we think you hardly need to use it. Low ends are clean and tight. The cost is reasonable, and the performance exceeds the cost.

As the name suggests, the 280 stands for 280-degree wide sound dispersion. To have more powerful sound, you can connect multiple ION Audio speakers with the help of Wireless Stereo-Link feature. Connect another speaker to create stereo sound. The speaker has average soundstage and is good for outdoor usage and music.

Ease of use:

Use the ION Sound XP mobile app to easily control settings, light options and more. JBL Flip 5 Won't Turn On- Solution and Reasons
The JBL FLIP 5 is a speaker that will last and has a great sound. Most of the time, they work well and rarely have problems. However, as with any piece of technology, hardware or software problems can happen anytime. But the JBL FLIP 5 speaker doesn't always work. What do you do if your speaker won't turn on by itself? Let's try a few different things to figure out why the JBL Flip 5 won't turn on. Why won't my JBL FLIP 5 work? There are many things that could be wrong if your JBL FLIP 5 speaker won't turn on. An issue with your battery is likely one of the primary culprits. There is a chance that the speaker's battery has run out. In the worst case, you'll need to buy a replacement. Also, if you mistakenly put the speaker into service mode, hardly any of the buttons would therefore work and the speaker won't turn on. By press and hold the Bluetooth and Play/Pause buttons for 10 seconds, you may place the JBL speaker in service mode (also known as secret mode).  If you did that, that might be the problem. The fact that your JBL FLIP 5 won't turn on could also be because of a problem with the software. Using the software (JBL Portable) on your phone, you may reset the speaker or update to a new firmware version to remedy issue. If you dropped the JBL speaker from a great height, that could be another reason why it won't turn on. You have to send it in for electronic repair, which is unfortunate. Read: How to Reset Vizio TV Without Remote Is There A Way To Fix A JBL FLIP 5 Speaker That Won't Turn On? We've thought of a few ways to fix your JBL FLIP 5 speaker, which won't turn on. Each of these solutions solves a different issue. If you don't know why your JBL speaker won't turn on, try each method until you find the right one. Leave Service Mode The JBL speakers offer a servicing mode that many people don't aware of. It cannot press any buttons when in service mode. The major sign that your speaker serves mode is that it turns on when it's plugged into a charger but immediately turns off when you unplug it. Moreover, when the power button is touched, the speaker won't connect to anything else or turn itself off. You need to exit service mode in order to solve this: Plug a charger into the JBL Speaker. Press and keep holding the Play/Pause and Bluetooth buttons for 10–15 seconds. The speaker will stop working and exit service mode. Take out the charger and click the start button once. Then it will power up and work as usual. Read: Best Cable Amplifier Charge the Battery up again JBL speakers won't work if they don't have enough power. Not everybody knows how and where to check if their JBL speakers still have power. Check the LED lights on the bottom of your JBL FLIP 5 speaker to see how much charge it has. Each light that was on meant that there was 20 percent of the charge left. Whether the first LED flashes red, it means that the battery is most probably dead and needs to be charged. Here are the steps for charging a JBL FLIP 5: Put the USB-C into your JBL FLIP 5's charging port. Then plug the other end (USB-A) of the cable into the wall charger. The power from the wall charger must be less than 3A. Plug the wall charger in an electrical socket. The JBL speaker will be fully charged after 2.5 hours. Take the charger out of the speaker and press power button to turn it on Read: Best Way to Fix Slow Wi-Fi Connection of Vizio TV Resetting the JBL FLIP 5's factory settings A factory reset can fix everything. When you do a hard reset, all the settings will go back to the way they were when you first got the phone. If you do a hard reset, your speaker will stop working with other devices and you will have to choose a new sound mode. Different problems can also be fixed by doing a hard reset. The first thing you should do if you have a problem with your JBL speakers is attempt this. To perform a hard reset on a JBL FLIP 5, you must: You have to hold the JBL speaker plugged into a charger because it won't turn on. Press and push the Volume Up "+" button and also the Play/Pause button for ten seconds, then release both buttons. When the speaker turns on, you can let go of the buttons. Now, try connecting the speaker to something else and seeing if it still works. Press All Buttons Pressing and holding all the buttons is another way to solve a JBL FLIP 5 speaker that won't turn on. Here's the right way to do it: Hold down all of the speaker buttons for about 10–15 seconds. Press the power button once after a few seconds. You should turn on the speaker. To see if the problem is fixed, turn the speaker OFF and then ON again. Replace The Battery As we've already talked about, one of the main reasons a JBL FLIP 5 won't turn on is that the battery is broken. The JBL Speakers have lithium batteries that come with them. The number of times these batteries can be charged is about 500. The battery in your JBL speaker may be fully charged if you've owned it for a long time and have used it often. A single charging cycle is completed if the battery is used from 100% to 0% and then recharged back to 100%. Whenever the lithium battery in a JBL Speaker has been charged a certain number of times, it loses most of its ability to charge. The JBL speaker will lose its ability to charge when you're using it after this. If you're using it a lot, the battery can run out and become useless. No sound will come out of your new JBL FLIP 5 speaker if it can't charge or if it can't be charged. You could also damage the battery if you overcharge it or store the speaker at a place with a high temperature. You need to change the battery to fix this. Send it to an electronics shop, where they can help you change the battery. Replace the Charging Port Speakers that can't be charged because of a bent or broken USB charging port will not turn on. Try to clean the charging port before anything else. Clean the charging port with a gentle brush to remove any dirt or debris that may have accumulated inside of it. After cleaning your speaker, connect it to a power source and wait five minutes before attempting to turn it on. If everything goes well, the speaker should recharge in roughly 2.5 hours. If it doesn't work, it could be a problem with the charging port or the circuit board. Send this same speaker to a place that fixes electronics. One Last Thing All of these solutions can often fix a speaker that won't turn on. If this doesn't fix the problem, letting the battery run out usually works to reset the charging logic. If your speaker turns off by itself or won't turn on, it might not be getting charged because the charging port or cable is broken. If none of our suggestions worked, you should call JBL. Please remember that if your speaker is very old, the battery may not last as long as it used to. We would suggest a step up. FAQs This FAQ is here to solve some of your problems. let's find out more! Why is my JBL Flip 5 not turning on or charging? Can JBL Speakers be Repaired? But first, you should check to see if the warranty on your speaker is still valid. If you're planning to build a big home theater system that changes the structure, you might want to think about hiring a professional home theater installer. Nonetheless, for many of us, all we need to do is spend a little time planning how we are going to connect our systems together, and we are ready to go. So, how do we go about setting up a home theater wiring? Let's find out. How To Do Wiring For Home Theater After connecting a few devices together, wiring your home theater will seem far less daunting than it initially appears to be. Wiring up the most common devices is covered in the following guide, but I also address the proper gauge of wire to use and the best approach to conceal the wires in your home theater.. Before you begin wiring your home theater, be sure you grasp the scope of the project. Professional help is recommended if you wish to install ceiling speakers or other showy gadgets that require structural changes. Do-it-yourself home theater installation is an option for those who want something more modest or are confident with their DIY skills. Be prepared for the possibility that the project will take longer than anticipated. The next step is to educate yourself with the types of cords and connections you'll be using in your home theater. Even though TVs and receivers for audio and video have the most connections, most manufacturers are considerate and clearly designate the various connectors. Inexperienced installers will have the most difficulty setting up speaker systems because they typically do not come equipped with the proper wiring. This means that you will have to purchase the appropriate gauge wire and do the final wiring yourself. Wire gauges will be discussed in more detail later, so it doesn't have to be too difficult. Read: What Need to Know About DTS Sound Basic Terminology Another thing you should know before you start wiring up your home theater is that there are different terms for the same thing. When people talk about their home theater equipment, they use words like interconnect, cable, and wire. But what do these words mean? It is something that connects two audio and video devices. For example, the wire that connects a DVD player to a TV, or the wire that connects a TV to a DVD player. A HDMI cable is a way to connect. Wire and cable are both words that are used to describe things that send audio signals from the amplifier to the speakers. However, these terms are used a lot together, and wire and cable are the most common. It does help to know the difference. Read: How to Turn on Sony Soundbar without Remote How well you know your wires There are many typical kinds of cable that you'll encounter while wiring your home cinema. Listed below are some of the most prevalent: HMDI TVs and other gadgets may be connected using this wire. A high-definition image is produced, often in 1080p. DVI Conventional projectors and computers are the most common applications for this kind of wire. SCART The only time you'll see these old-school wires is when you're trying to connect standard-definition equipment (such as a VCR). As a general rule, the majority of individuals who desire to accomplish this will already have some experience with these wires. Component High-definition photos may be sent over this connection, which is rather popular. Three different colored pins form the basis of a component connection (usually red, blue, and green). VGA/RGB When it comes to PCs and laptops, the most popular method of connecting them to each other is through a USB port. S-Video There are many items using this kind of analog video connection, however it doesn't generate as nice a picture as others. Coaxial This is a popular option among home theater aficionados for transmitting high-quality audio signals across devices. RCA stereo and multichannel Analog audio signals may be sent via RCA, which is available in two-channel and surround sound forms. In this essay, I go into great depth regarding these wires. The most frequent kinds of cable in a home theater are the ones listed above, although there are many more. If I listed every sort of cable and every technique to connect it, we'd be here all day. Instead, I'll stick to the most popular. Even if you're using a less common cable, it's probable that you already understand how to connect it. In general, these wires are quite simple to put together. It's a simple matter of plugging the gadgets in and you're ready to go. An adapter is all you need if one device doesn't have the correct sort of connection. They're simple to get online, and they'll cure a variety of problems. Read: How to Fix Samsung TV Optical Out No Sound Issue Follow the Safety Rules It's a no-brainer here. Safety is paramount when it comes to wiring, regardless of whether you're putting up a home entertainment system or just swapping out an old power wire in the kitchen. Use only cables and wires that meet or exceed all applicable safety standards. Fire, chemical, abrasion, and temperature change resistance are a few examples. A common mistake is to run the wires from beneath the chairs without properly insulating them beforehand. There is a risk of significant injury at the moment of the shot circuit because of this. Interconnect, Wire, Cable, or Lead: Which is better? Even the words used when connecting two systems together can be hard to understand. Anything that connects two AV devices is called an interconnect. e.g. from the DVD player to the amplifier. It is called a wire or cable when it sends audio from an amplifier to the speaker, and it is also called a wire. This is not true when it comes to wires and cables in home theater wiring discussions, where these terms are used very loosely. The term cable, lead, or wire is used by all types of connections. Wiring Your Home Theater Speakers So, as you can see, when it comes to connecting most of your home theater devices, all you have to do is plug the right cable into the right port. However, speakers are a little more complicated because they don't come with the right tools (like wires) and you have to connect them all together. So why do speaker systems not come with wires? Because people have different needs for their systems and different sized rooms, there can't be a single wiring system for every speaker. An audio system wired for 3ft rooms is not going to be very useful in a 9ft room, because it's not going to work. Getting the job done right doesn't take long if you have all the information you need before you start. The things you need to think about are: The size of your room There are a lot of speakers that you're wiring together. The level of sound quality you're expecting Whether or not you're going to hide the wires. Strings of thin metal called speaker wires let audio signals move from the speaker to the wires, where they can be picked up by the speaker itself. Simple, but there's more you need to know. The properties of the metal used to make the wires can help you figure out if it's going to work for you. Resistance and Impedance There is a certain amount of resistance in every cable, which is how much energy is lost when a signal is sent through it. A lot of people don't like it when people try to help them, but that's normal. The key is to balance the amount of resistance with how far a signal travels so that you can keep the quality as good as possible. Another thing to think about is the cable impedance. If we look at a circuit, this is how the voltage and the current work together. Mismatches in impedance can make a signal bounce back at any point in the circuit, which can damage your equipment and make your signal less clear. In this case, the reflected signal then shows up on your video device later than the original one. This is called "ghosting." It's a good rule of thumb that most home theater devices have an impedance of 75 ohms. It doesn't matter that this isn't very important, but it's good to know that devices can be connected without having an impedance match. Even so, it's important to keep in mind that if you have two devices that don't match each other in terms of impedance, you can solve the problem with a transformer, which are very easy to buy online. Getting The Right Type Of Wire A critical step in the installation procedure is deciding on the correct kind of cables to use. In my experience, many individuals see wiring as a last-minute task, which I've always found incongruous. Instead of investing much in high-quality gear, why not save some money by using bad wiring? Anyway, before I go into gauges, let's have a look at some of the greatest wire materials. It is important to know which metals are utilized in speaker cables in order to get the best performance from your speakers. The most common kinds of wire you'll encounter are: Copper There are several types of wire, but this is the least costly and most popular. Copper is an excellent conductor and has low resistance, however it oxidizes, which is a downside. When copper is exposed to oxygen, it becomes green. If left unchecked, this will lead to a significant rise in resistance. Silver Silver is more costly than copper, but it has a lower resistance. In addition, since it oxidizes, silver wire is seldom preferable to copper wire in terms of performance and cost. Gold The most costly metal is gold, but it is also the best. There is no oxidation, hence it has the lowest resistance and is the best conductor. However, because to its high price, gold is seldom utilized throughout the whole wire. Gold-plated connectors are common, although this is sufficient to increase signal quality. So, while deciding on speaker wire, keep in mind that resistance is a crucial consideration, and you want it to be as low as possible. Because copper wire is more affordable than silver, and "gold" cables are simply gold at the connectors, I choose copper. Copper wires are used in most cases. Here are a few more basic pointers to keep in mind while deciding on the right cables and putting up the speaker system. The longer a wire is, the more resistance it has. You should thus try to minimize the length of your cables. Plan your setup such that the distance between speakers is enough, but not so much that you run into problems with resistance. Keep your lengths the same, if possible. Again, this helps with resistance since wires of the same length have the same amount of resistance. A better audio balance will result as a result of this, and if your distance measurements are inaccurate, you will realize it immediately. Verify the area of the cross-section. A cross-sectional area's math isn't always useful in this context. A narrower cross section equals more resistance, according to the theory. Keep your cross-sectional area as broad as feasible in order to minimize resistance. Don't worry if this seems like a lot of information to take in, because it is. There are so many variables to consider when wiring a home cinema that I was completely stumped when I first started. Most wire makers, on the other hand, are really helpful and give thorough information on a wire's qualities, so all you really need to know is the gauge and the area to cover. These tidbits of information should help clarify the rest of the situation. What Gauge Wire Should You Use For A Home Theater? The most costly metal is gold, but it is also the best. Some General Connection Tips So far, I've talked about how to choose the right wires, like which materials and gauges to use. It's also important to talk about how to actually install the wires. For the most part, connecting speakers together isn't too hard once you get the hang of it. It's important to remember that you're building a circuit, and each speaker needs to be connected in the right way for them to work together. Here are some other tips: Make sure you know which leads on your speaker wires are positive and which are negative before you connect them. Because this is a circuit, you must ensure that all of the components are correctly linked to one other. When connecting the speakers to one another and to the amplifier, this is critical. The result will be either no sound or terrible sound if it is not done correctly. If you don't want to use connectors, I propose getting some wire strippers instead. Remove about 1 cm of insulation from each end, and then twist the strands together so they're tightly bound. When this is connected to the speaker, loose copper strands might have an effect on the audio quality. The connecting terminals on speakers are either spring clips or binding posts. Spring clips, on the other hand, can only be used with bare wires or pin connections. Make sure your speakers are in working order before making a purchase decision on a speaker connection (if any). Binding posts, on the other hand, can accept any sort of connection, although working with bare wires is more challenging. Binding posts, as opposed to spring-loaded ones, provide a considerably more secure connection. When wiring speakers, electromagnetic interference (EMF) must be considered. A lot of cable may be a problem, especially if it's wrapped around itself. This is the reason why it is so critical to conduct accurate measurements. Try to keep wires out of mortal danger by concealing them in places where they won't be tripped on or damaged. To keep you safe, but also to maintain the wires in functioning condition, this is necessary. Because they're so delicate. Before you start measuring cords, develop a configuration for your speakers. To prevent the speakers from being squeezed too tightly together when connected, measure the distance between them and add an additional 15-20cm of wire. With this much leeway, you'll be able to get the job done. You might have too much distance between your speakers if they sound too quiet when connected. Opt for thicker cable instead of shifting the speakers (however, I suggest figuring this out before purchasing wire). How To Hide Home Theater Wires Setting up a home theater necessitates the use of a lot of wiring. It's understandable that someone like me would want to do all in her power to avoid having all of these cords strewn around. Even if it's not the end of the world, it should be avoided if possible. The most important thing to keep in mind is that cables may be a severe tripping danger. Even if you don't tread on or crush wires with furniture, they may still be damaged or even yanked away from their connections. Wires and devices will suffer as a result of these changes. For a home theater, how do you conceal the cables that connect the various components? "Trunking," as electricians describe it, is the simplest and least expensive choice. A variety of products fall under this umbrella word, but at its core it refers to a piece of plastic that is used to encase all of the wires and then adhered to a wall using glue or nails. This is a great method to keep all of your wires organized and out of the way, plus it's simple to put together. Plastic trunking is quite affordable and simple to get (see the image below). Self-adhesive backing is available on some at DIY stores and online, making installation more simpler. Although it is simple to conceal, it is not the most visually pleasant addition to a space in which it is placed. For the most part, I didn't like utilizing plastic trunking, but after a time, it becomes second nature. Its usefulness much outweighs its aesthetic appeal. However, if you're handy, the best option is to do the wiring inside the wall. Cables are hidden in wall cavities so they're out of the way, precisely as it sounds like. Installing low-voltage wiring by yourself is generally not restricted, but you should double-check (for example, if you're not the property owner or reside in an apartment complex) to make sure you're authorized. The fact that speakers are likely to be put on the wall makes this an excellent option. For my new home theater, I decided to go with a more professional and sleek aesthetic by using this method. A home theater may also be a smart option if you're remodeling a room and want to lay out the wires while you're at it, so it's a win-win situation for everyone. You'll need CL2 or CL3 certified in-wall wires for this. Designed for the function, they are the best. How To Hide Wires In-wall In spite of the fact that you'll need to cut and drill, drywall jobs aren't very difficult. Just a few holes need to be drilled, wires routed to their proper locations, and a few plates and brackets installed. Despite the fact that this may seem to be a simpler form, wiring speakers in any setting is quite similar. These guidelines can help you get started: Make a detailed plan before beginning any project. Make a mark on the wall wherever you want the speakers, A/V receiver, and TV to be. Make sure you plan everything out before you cut any wood. There is no turning back after you've dug a hole. Take advantage of any open areas that may be available. If you have a basement or crawlspace, for example, you may make advantage of them to minimize the amount of cutting required. Attic wiring may also be done, and then gadgets can be dropped into the gaps. Make sure you get lots of additional wire when making your purchase. Installing ceiling speakers? Make sure there's enough spare cable to set the speaker someplace while you link everything up, for example. Allow 10% to 15% extra wire than you think you'll need as a general guideline. Use this information to determine which wall plates best suit your needs. Wall-mounted volume controls are also available, so if you're going to drill holes in the drywall, you may as well install them. There are drywall support brackets designed particularly for speakers that may be purchased. The drywall must be removed before this can be done, so if you're constructing from scratch, these could be the better alternative. Make sure you obtain the proper junction boxes for your gadgets by doing some research beforehand. Finally, if you're running wire behind walls, be sure to use nail plates and secure them with screws. For example, if you're running a cable through a joist, a nail plate would be the metal component that covers the cable. The nail plate protects the wires from any future wall construction. Before Purchasing Equipment, Understand the Connections If you think about this before you acquire your equipment, it will make your life lot simpler. It's possible to factor in your intended method of interconnecting your devices when making hardware purchases. To avoid having to return a piece of equipment because the connection types it has aren't compatible with your current gear, this is a good idea. In other words, you don't have to purchase everything separately; you can only budget for the particular connecting cable. Check to see whether the wires you need have male or female connectors. Female connectors are the most common on gadgets. As a result, male connectors are required on the majority of cables. However, it's always a good idea to double-check the cable before purchasing it. What is the other device's input connection type? What gender are you? You can ensure that you purchase the right cable by first verifying this. There's no need to buy a new cable or adapters to fix your initial error if you use this. Avoid Overpaying for ‘High-Quality' Cables The picture/sound quality you'll receive from a cable isn't always directly correlated to the money you pay for it. For shorter cable runs, say 3-4 meters, a well-made no-frills cable will operate just as well as most costly cables and interconnects. Investing a little extra on long cable lines may be worthwhile, but don't overdo it. Most individuals won't be able to profit from any improvement since they don't have the high-quality hardware required. There is little difference in sound quality between inexpensive and costly cables for most casual listeners and watchers. That is, if there is any difference to be made. Separate power and audio-video cables Due to the low voltage of audio and video wires, electromagnetic interference might occur. Because of this, you must keep them apart. If at all feasible, run your power cables on one side and your audio-video wires on the other using cable hangers or managers. Looping power cords may also result in a humming or buzzing sound emanating from the speakers or scrolling bands on the display screen, therefore you should avoid doing this. You may solve this problem by plugging all your power cords into a single power strip or surge protector. Final Thoughts Wiring your home theater doesn't have to be hard. It can be hard to figure out which speakers are which in home theater development, but once you get the terminology down, it's not that hard. It's up to you to choose the right cables for your needs, so the best thing I can tell you is to make sure you plan everything out before you buy anything (or cutting any holes). FAQs Take this FAQ as a parting gift from us to help you with wiring of a hometheatre. Do I need conduit for speaker wire? If you are in an air space, you don't need a conduit to connect things. Ceiling tiles aren't strong enough to hold it up. In the NEC codes, they say that if the voltage is more than 100 volts, it must be in a conduit or have a suitable outer sheath.. How do I organize the cables on the back of my TV? If you don't want to have a bunch of cables behind your TV, use cable ties to keep them straight. To keep cables from getting tangled, plastic zip ties that cinch shut or hook and loop fastener strips wrap around bundles of them to keep them from getting loose or getting tangled. If your home theater components are close together, you can use these to keep them all in order. Does speaker wire cause interference? If you have high-level speaker wire in your system, it isn't likely to make noise. Buy primary wire for speaker wire and use a drill to twist the wire together, then run that to your speakers.

First, it is good to check the power supply and see if enough voltage is trying to reach your device. This is done now, so you can start moving on to troubleshooting the sound bar. It's important to see what other people have done to get into trouble: 1. There is a problem with a Power Source. A problem with your soundbar's power outlet or not enough voltage could cause your device to shut down at any time. 2. Remote Issue If your remote is running low on batteries, it could make the soundbar do things that aren't supposed to happen, like change the power state. 3. The Power Adapter Won't Work A problem with your soundbar's power adapter could be the source of the problem, not you. You can't rule out this chance until you change it. 4. Wireless Issue As long as your soundbar is connected to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, it could turn off if it was cut off. 5. Hardware Problem Finally, there could be a hardware problem with your soundbar that is making it turn off. As soon as you figure out what could be the problem, you can start the troubleshooting guide. Let's get started right away! Power Reset your Soundbar We think that powering down your soundbar will solve the problem. A power cycle would be a good idea if that problem is caused by a bug or glitch in your soundbar's software. This would restart all the services on your soundbar, so it would fix the problem. Check out this part on how to power reset your sound bar. Do not plug in your soundbar's power adapter to the wall outlet. When your soundbar is completely drained, wait for about 5 minutes. Connect the power adapter to the power source again. Run a test to see how well it works. Turn on your sound bar and then use it for a while to see if it still shuts down. Check the Power Outlet Take a look at the power outlet that the Polk soundbar is attached to. If the power isn't strong enough, it might not be able to turn on. It shuts off again and again if the power keeps going out. This is why we suggest plugging the soundbar into a different outlet to see if that helps. The steps to plug your Polk soundbar into another source are simple and easy to follow: Remove the power adapter for your soundbar from the power brick. When you find a new power source, you can plug your soundbar in. Place the device and link the power components in the same way they were before. It's time to turn on your device and see how it works out. Replace Soundbar Power Components The power source of your device is made up of two separate parts. It starts with a power adapter, which connects to the power brick. Then, the power brick connects to the soundbar. We think you should get a new power supply for the soundbar to fix the problem. Look at this 1SV AC/DC adapter. It's meant to replace Polk audio signals. Connect the power adapter to both the brick and the power source. Then, connect the power brick to the sound bar. Disable the Auto Shutoff Feature This trick works for 4 hours. Auto shut down can be turned off. Polk's soundbar won't turn itself off in 4 hours, and it won't. However, it will go into "standby mode" after the set time. For 10 seconds, press and hold the "Power" button and the "Volume Down" button at the same time. Auto shut-off won't happen for the next 4 hours. You can do this again. Always keep in mind that you must push these buttons on the soundbar itself rather than on the remote control. Change the Settings on Your TV This may be because your TV has some settings that aren't right. Try changing some settings on your TV to try and fix this. It's very easy. Open the TV menu. Go to the 'Sound' setting. Change the response time to 20mS by going to "Response time." Connect Soundbar to A Receiver It is conceivable that your Polk soundbar may shut down after a period of inactivity if it has lost connection with its receiver. Depending on the connection you're using for the soundbar, you should double-check to make sure everything is working properly. Using Wired Connection First, connect the First end of your soundbar's digital optical cable to the rear of your receiver before connecting the connection to the soundbar itself. Wait for your receiver to identify the source before proceeding. Using Wireless Connection On your receiver, go to the Bluetooth settings and make sure that your soundbar is there. Make sure that it is. In your receiver's options, look for the Bluetooth connection and start a connection with the device. Hold on a second. With the steps above, you ought to be able to connect your Polk soundbar to a receiver quickly. When it's connected, watch to see if it will disconnect and then shut down, or if it will shut down without disconnecting at first. Reset Your Polk Soundbar Resetting the soundbar is the best thing to do. A lot of problems will be solved by this solution, and it is very likely that it works. It's possible that your Polk soundbar is acting weird because of a software glitch. All the bugs will be removed if you do a "reset." The device is updated and starts working well again. In order to reset your Polk soundbar, you can do so by following these steps: Before anything else, turn off the sound bar. Press the "Stop" button for a few seconds. When the screen says "INIT OK," you can let go of the button. When it's a while, turn on the sound bar. You can now pair it with your TV or connect it to another device. This also works with older Polk soundbars that don't have a screen. Final Words If your Polk soundbar keeps turning itself off, you can try power cycling the device and plugging the device into a different outlet to fix it, so that it doesn't happen again. Then, you can change out the power adapter. If nothing else works, you can try to factory reset your Polk sound bar. You now know why the Polk sound bar keeps turning off. How To Mirror iPhone To TV Without Wi-Fi
There's a chance you're spending the night at a motel or that the power went out at your house. But you still want to show what's on your iPhone to other people. Many people want to learn more about the functionalities on their device, but that depends on whether or not they can connect their TV to the internet. But what if you don't have internet on your TV but still have to use your iPhone? With that in mind, here are a few things to keep in mind while you're using your new smart TV. Do you want to show what's on your iPhone screen on your TV without using Wi-Fi? If that ever happens, there are some things that can be done about it. Using Apple Peer-to-Peer Airplay Peer-to-Peer Airplay will work without Wi-Fi on the latest Apple TVs, like the Apple TV 4K (2nd generation, 2021) or the Apple TV HD (originally called Apple TV 4th generation, 2015). If you have an Apple TV (Third Generation Rev. A–2012), it should also be running Apple TV Software 7.0 or later. Also, you'll need an iOS device that was made at least in 2012 or later and is running at least iOS 8. Peer-to-Peer Airplay isn't available on older devices, which is a shame. Screen mirroring can still be used on older devices, but they need to be connected to Wi-Fi. Screen Mirroring through Peer-to-Peer Airplay is easy to do if you have all the devices you need. Peer-to-Peer Airplay works without Wi-Fi, and it might not work if any of your devices are connected to a network. Because of this, you must first disconnect your Apple TV and iOS from any Wi-Fi network and then connect them again. Click "Settings," then "Network," and then "Wi-Fi." Any network that the Apple TV is connected to will be shown on your TV screen. Select the name of the Wi-Fi network you are currently connected to, then click "Forget Network." Go to "Settings" on your iOS device and then choose "Wi-Fi" to see information about your current connection. Click "Forget Network" to leave the network. Equalizer Settings for Clear Voice on TV
There are equalizer settings that you can change if you have a TV. You can get the most out of your TV speakers by doing this. Setting the equalizer correctly helps you get the sound you want from your TV speakers. A single TV setting isn't good for everything you watch, but if you only watch the same thing every day, like talk shows, dramas, or movies, it's fine. People who want to listen to different types of sounds have different needs for their equalizers. For example, if you watch talk shows on TV, it is important to be able to hear what is being said. There is very little bass when you use built-in TV speakers. You can't enjoy movies or music much because there isn't a lot of it. After you learn a few things, you'll be able to figure out which settings work best for you. What Is TV Dialogue? The dialogue on the soundtrack of a TV show refers to the sounds that people make when they watch. People say things. TV shows and movies often have this as the most important part. Of course, when it comes to music videos, the music takes priority. But for most movies, documentaries, dramas, current events, and so on, the most important thing is the voice. You won't enjoy your show very much if you can't hear the words very well. Read: How to Reset Vizio TV Without Remote Why Does the Voice on My TV Sound so Unclear? It's important for you to know that there could be many reasons why the dialogue in a TV show isn't clear on your TV. These can be anything from: Too much music and sound effects are going on at the same time as the talk. People who are talking don't speak very well at all. When you watch TV, the speaker on your TV is not very good. The place where you put your TV might make it hard to hear the sound from the speakers. In your room, the acoustics might make some frequencies stand out more than others. It is possible that some shows will be mixed and broadcast in 5.1 surround sound, which has more sound. On your stereo TV speakers, this will automatically be mixed down to stereo. This can make the soundtrack look crowded or unbalanced. In some cases, some parts of the soundtrack might not be there at all. This is why it can be hard to come up with a single answer to this problem. Your problem might be one of those things, and you should talk to someone about it. All of them might also work together. That's a hard one to solve. In this case, you can only contact the actors on social media and ask them to speak a little clearer, but there's not much else you can do about it. Most of the other problems, on the other hand, there are a few things you can do to make them better. And if the dialogue is more clear, then the actor's performance might work better for you too, because you will be able to understand it better. Some of the solutions will just be to change a few settings on your TV's sound menu. Then, some people might ask you to spend money. If you can't figure out how to solve your problem, you should know about Equalizer setting. Read: Best Way to Fix Slow Wi-Fi Connection of Vizio TV What’s an Equalizer (EQ)? An equalizer is a piece of hardware that lets you change the sound quality by boosting or cutting certain frequency ranges. A lot of the time, it works with frequency range between 20Hz and 20,000Hz, which are the frequencies that humans can theoretically hear. In reality, our range could be limited by age and other things. A few decades ago, equalizers had all been controlled by a physical console where you could move up and down levers to change your settings. Now, because most audio is now consumed digitally, equalizers have been built into most devices like computers and smartphones so that you can change your audio settings as well as get the most from your speakers. If you have a stereo sound system, Blu-Ray player or smart TV that has an equalizer, you can also find them in most of these things as well. Read: How To Use Hisense Tv Without Remote Types of Sounds You Want to Hear People mostly watch dramas and discussion programs, although they may also listen to music, play video games, or see films. The equalizer settings for each of these sounds will be different. To get a full, resonant sound, we rely on deep, punchy bass. Because of the same conditions, it may be impossible to hear another word of what is being said on a talk show. We've made it easy for you to adjust your TV's equalization based on the sounds you wish to hear. What You Should Know About Equalizers: Understanding Common EQ Terms Make sure you know what you're doing before messing around with the EQ settings. There are multiple sliders with labels that regulate various aspects of sound, and you'll need to be acquainted with certain technical vocabulary. When using a digital equalization, you'll come across many audio terms. Read: How to Connect External Speakers to TV without Audio Output? Frequency Sound waves vibrate at a certain frequency during a specific time period, without delving into the technical details of how this is defined. As the diaphragm of a speaker swings back and forth, it creates vibrations in the air that are picked up by our ears and turned into sound. The number of complete vibration cycles per second is expressed as a unit of frequency, which is expressed in Hertz. The greater the frequency and, therefore, the higher the pitch (notes), the more often the cycles are completed every second. Low-frequency notes include bass and sub-bass, whilst mid- and high-frequency notes include mids and highs. Low-frequency sounds need larger speakers because they require more power, but high-frequency sounds demand smaller speakers because they require less power. Frequency Spectrum/Range The range of frequencies audible to the human ear is known as the frequency spectrum. It's true that our ears can't hear the whole 20Hz-20kHz range, but an equalizer can help us increase the frequencies we like and remove the ones we don't. The center frequency and the bandwidth are both controlled by each EQ slider. Each slider has its own center frequency, which is represented by the center frequency beneath each slider. An alternative metric for comparing slider response is bandwidth, which depicts the frequency range across which each slider may be moved. Each slider's bandwidth demonstrates the fineness or quality of the frequency adjustment. Quality control is better in a smaller range (narrow bandwidth) than in a larger range (wide bandwidth) (broad bandwidth). Digital equalizers have better control over sound quality than, say, the bass or treble dials on a vehicle radio. The frequency ranges of digital equalizers are shown below: 20 Hz-60 Hz: The first EQ slider on the left has a frequency range of 20 Hz-60 Hz. You'll need a high-quality subwoofer or a set of high-end in-ear monitors to hear it. There are just sub-bass and kick drum sounds in this area. 60 Hz-200 Hz: Most speakers and subwoofers have a low frequency range of 60 Hz to 200 Hz that may be heard. Bass drums and other low-frequency instruments are, as always, essential components of any musical ensemble. 200 Hz-600 Hz: Mid-range frequencies between 200 Hz and 600 Hz fall within this frequency range. Guitars and pianos are among the most common low-end musical instruments that may be heard in this frequency range. Low-frequency voices and bass instrumentation are also present. 600 Hz-3,000 Hz: We've arrived at the midpoint of the frequency spectrum. This is the frequency range in which the majority of people can most readily discern vocals and the majority of musical instruments, such as guitars and snare drums. There are sliders here that allow you to alter the "nasal" tone of your music (the voice you make when talking while holding your nose). 3,000 Hz-8,000 Hz: Upper midrange cymbal and hi-hat frequencies span from around 3,000 Hz to 8,000 Hz in this spectrum. Music may sound fantastic if it's properly tuned, but it can also spoil the atmosphere if it isn't. Upper-range instruments such as violins, synthesizers, pianos, and other piano-like instruments are used in this track. In addition, the majority of the information in most voices is contained within this range. 8,000 Hz and above: Humans can theoretically hear frequencies up to 20 kHz in this range, making it the very top end of human audibility. It is possible to get a "sizzly" impression by using sliders in this frequency range. Decibels The frequencies and sound decibels may be adjusted using the EQ sliders, which have positive and negative values on either end. As a general rule, the loudness or volume level of a frequency may be altered by moving the sliders to the left or right. Each frequency's loudness may be increased or decreased by swiping on either side of a slider. Using equalizers may be tricky because of their sensitivity. It's best to make little changes gently so as not to cause any unintended damage. Filters With the use of filters, you may fine-tune the boosted or cut frequencies. In order to reduce the excessive highs and lows, they either raise, attenuate, or pass a specified frequency range. When you use filters, the slider's exaggeration on the frequencies is eliminated, keeping the spectrum within your desired range. Low-pass and high-pass filters, for example, may be used to reduce low-frequency or high-frequency noises. Band-pass filters, on the other hand, limit the frequency range in which sounds may be heard by attenuating anything outside that range. Equalizer Settings If your TV has a Graphic Equalizer, you can change the sound to make it sound the way you want it to. Increase or decrease each frequency from a set range to get the sound you want. This helps to change the sound as you want. Open up the equalizer, and when you do, all the frequencies will be at 0%. Then you can start to boost or cut them. It's not a good idea to boost any frequency because it will make the sound too loud. In order to hear the other person, it's better to lower one of them so that it sounds like it did before. With dramas and talk shows, we want to hear the words clearly, and this can be done by cutting the bass. Bass is loud when things don't sound clear. Bass is a term for low frequencies that are below 250 Hz, which is what bass is. When you are setting up your equalizer, cut out the low frequencies (>250Hz) and see if the sound gets better. If you don't like the sound, try increasing the high frequencies a little. Do not raise the high frequencies too much, because it will make the sound sound out of balance and make it sound bad. As a first step, lower the lower frequencies. Don't go all the way down because it can also make things sound out of whack. Then, raise the highs a little more. There are many ways to get what you want. When you become an expert in equalization, you will be able to change sounds in a matter of seconds when you need to. Trust your ears when setting the EQ. And you'll keep making small changes until you get to where you want to be. The "Flat" level of the equalizer is a good place to start when you want to make sure that the audio quality is as good as it was when the equalizer was set to its lowest setting. To get your EQ-tuning journey off to a good start, here are the changes we found to improve the sound of different types of audio. Besides that, we also have a list of the best settings for different types of audio. Best equalizer settings for Music We know what kind of music you like and what kind of sound you like best. Everyone does, of course. The kind of music you're listening to has a major influence on the optimum equalization settings you may use. In fact, presets were made to help you figure out where to start with most types of music. Most presets sound good even if you don't change anything. For any type of music, you need to change the frequencies at which most of its instruments and vocals are found in order to get good EQ settings for it. And, of course, you should pay more attention to how they sound to your ears. Boost the lows to your favorite level if you like bass or dance music. Then lower the highs so the bass is more prominent. Keep the mid-ranges as-is or make only minor adjustments to preserve the sound's clarity. On the other hand, if you like high-pitched music like Classical, lower the bass and mid-ranges a little to make the music clearer and use a low-pass filter to keep the highs in check. The following are some tips for setting up your equalizer based on the type of music you play: Acoustic music The bass, mid-ranges, and highs should be raised a little to keep the instruments as well as vocals as clear as possible, but not so much that they sound out of place. Electronic music Here, the bass is very important, and since vocals aren't the main thing, you can boost the high ranges a little. Piano and classical music Most of the instruments used in these types of music are pianos, acoustic guitars, violins, and a full orchestra. In this case, the last thing you need to do is make too many changes to any frequency range, which will make the sound less clear. A little bit: Make sure the lows, middle, and highs all sound about the same volume. Pop music For people who like pop, the goal is to keep the vocals or mid-ranges as clear as possible. Do not forget about the low-mid and high-mid. Rock music Here, boost the low and high frequencies so you can get as much detail from the electric guitars as possible, while keeping the middle frequencies as low as possible so you don't lose any of the sound. Best equalizer settings for Games Is there a chance that you aren't hearing game sounds coming from your TV? Most of the sound in computer games comes from speakers that are connected to the computer. However, there is a way to play through LED TV speakers. In games, we need also bass. High frequencies are also required for some types of games, but they aren't as important as bass. For fast-paced games, setting a higher value for high frequency makes for a great experience. In games that make us feel better, we need a lot of bass. So way to set a higher value for low-frequencies can have great results. Finally, it all comes down to what you like and what kind of game you are trying to play. You can change the sounds to fit your needs. Best Equalizer Settings for Movies You can't separate deep bass sound effects from movies, but you can change the EQ to make the vocals and music louder and less likely to shake your speakers. It's still possible that some people will like the movie's sound better if it was changed a little. In that case, you should boost the lows and cut back on the highs and the upper midranges. To get the best results, a little bit raise the lows and highs till the EQ curve looks like a smile. If the dialogue isn't clear, you might want to cut the lows and highs a little and gradually raise the mids until you're pleased with the quality. It's a good idea to keep any changes as slow and gradual as possible to avoid distortion or going to burst your speakers. Best Equalizer Settings For Bass Some folks question how to get the finest possible bass sound using an equalizer even if bass music isn't a genre in and of itself. Sub-bass (20 Hz to 60 Hz) and mid-bass (60 Hz to 250 Hz) frequencies may be distinguished in the bass range. With headphones and speakers, the sub-bass or mid-bass is often more prominent, allowing you to fine-tune the sound to suit your tastes using an equalizer. Dialup the frequencies from to get a better sub-bass performance (20 Hz to 60 Hz). Similarly, if you like mid-bass performance, increase the frequency range from 60 Hz to 250 Hz. Both of these ranges may subtract from higher frequencies and create the sound 'boomier', thus care must be taken. But when done correctly, EQing bass frequencies may be a formidable weapon that lifts a headphone or speaker to new heights. Best Equalizer Settings for Podcasts and Audiobooks To get the best sound for your podcasts as well as audiobooks, focus on changing the EQ so that human speech sounds the best. When people speak differently because of their gender, age, & tone changes, it can be hard to figure out what to say. According to our research, you should aim for a frequency of 125 Hz for adult male speakers, 200 Hz for adult female speakers, and anything from 250 Hz to 400 Hz for youngsters. Rather than directly boosting the frequencies you want to boost, you should try to drown out as many of the other frequencies you don't want to boost as much as possible instead. Final Thoughts The ideal listening experience is very personal and changes based on the sound type, the audio equipment, and the environment. A skill called EQ tuning would never be the same after you learn how to do it. Because different things will change, you'll have to make changes to your equalizer settings as often as you need to. If this guide has helped you become a master at shaping your sound quality, we hope it has helped you a lot! FAQs well, this faq is here to solve some of your problems regarding equalizer settings. How do you fix very low dialogue but very loud sound effects on TV? One way to do this is to turn up the general volume so that you can hear the loud sounds in the movie or TV show (like explosions, gunfights, and so on) at a level that is comfortable for you. Then, you can individually adjust the center channel so that the dialogue is also loud enough for you. What are the best TV equalizer settings for dialogue? From 2 kHz to 6 kHz, you can find the clarity of a voice. It should help to make the dialogue more loud and clear. How do I adjust my TV sound to hear voices? A setting called "Dynamic Range Compression" might be in the audio section. You might also see it called "Dynamic Range Control." A high or a maximum setting might be better for this. If your TV has this feature, setting it to its top level will make the loudest and quietest sounds sound the same. This will make the range of volume more even. Why can’t I hear the dialogue on my TV? In your TV's audio menu, look at all of the settings and make sure they are correct. Some options, like "night mode," make the sound flat and are not good for talking about things, like movies or books. Also, surround sound might not work well for your movie or TV show. For a simple fix, confirm to see if your TV seems to have pre-sets to improve dialogue, like Clear Voice, that can help
