Comparing KEF Q350 vs Klipsch RP-600M, the RP-600M is larger in size. It is available in three different colors: Ebony, Walnut and Piano Black. It has an MDF enclosure that is scratch free and eliminates vibration. Unlike the KEF Q350, it comes with a magnetic speaker grille.

KEF speakers are made of MDF with a satin finish. Unfortunately it does not come with any grille but you can purchase it separately. It is available in basic black and white color.

Performance:

Comparing KEF Q350 vs Klipsch RP-600M, the RP-600M has higher sensitivity and can get louder. It can also reach a much lower frequency than the KEF Q350. Klipsch RP-600M consists of Klipsch patented Tractrix Horn tweeter. The titanium tweeter is known to be more effective than traditional aluminum or silk tweeters. It minimizes standing waves, distortion, harshness and produces a more focused, realistic, smooth highs.

While you will not get wall shaking bass, the 6.5” delivers outstanding bass performance than expected. It is designed to improve efficiency and accuracy. A Tractrix port on the back panel will eliminate port noise. This means users will hear a cleaner and precise bass response. We listened to rock, metal and different other music genres with ease. In case you have a big room, we suggest getting a subwoofer.

KEF Q350 is different from Klipsch RP-600M. It has a different driver design and placement. The 1” aluminum tweeter is at the center of the 6.5” aluminum mid-bass driver. This Uni-Q driver arrangement focuses on producing a precise audio presentation that is room filling. It also minimizes any internal standing waves while enhancing clarity. The speakers have good dynamics. Low ends have adequate punch that allows users to enjoy music and movies. A rear bass port will give an additional boost. 

In terms of soundstage, the speakers have an amazing performance. Ambient sounds are nicely represented with a good amount of details. Unlike Klipsch that is often blamed for being too bright, KEF Q350 speakers do not have this issue. The highs are crisp, clear and non-fatiguing. They have good imaging and soundstage. 

Use case and installation:

Klipsch RP-600M and KEF Q350 can be used as front or rear speakers. Klipsch RP-600M has 2 sets of binding posts that you can use for bi-wiring and bi-amping. KEF Q350 has gold plated binding posts.

Compatible devices:

Set up the KEF Q350 with QSC GX3, Rega Brio, Cambridge Audio AXA35,Cambridge AXR100, Yamaha A-S 801, etc. Expand the system to a large home theater with KEF (Q550/Q750/Q950) floorstanding, (Q150) bookshelf, (Q650C/Q250C) center, (Q50A) Atmos and subwoofer. Users can mismatch as well.

Klipsch RP-600M is also expandable with other speakers (floorstanding, center channel, Atmos) from the Reference Premiere Series. Choose one from the following matching receivers: Sony STR-DH190, Yamaha R-S300 receiver, yamaha AS 301 amp, Marantz NR1510, OnkyoTX-8500, etc.

Speaker position:

KEF Q350 is easy to place by leaving a gap of 9” from the back wall and 40” from the side wall. The gap between the speakers should be around 6 to 10’. Then angle them inwards, adjust it to find a suitable spot. If you are placing a subwoofer, put it on the same front wall as the speaker.

For Klipsch RP-600M, keep them 6 to 15’ apart. The distance between the sitting position and the speakers should be equal or slightly larger than that of speakers. While using them as rear speakers, elevate them 5 to 7’ from the ground.

Cost:

Comparing KEF Q350 vs Klipsch RP-600M,the KEF Q350 is costlier than the Klipsch RP-600M speakers. While they are both affordable, if you have a tight budget you will prefer the Klipsch RP-600M over KEF.
