It has good sonic accuracy. If you have compact spaces, the Monitor Audio Bronze 50 with 5.25” woofer driver is an ideal choice. In most cases you will not need an additional subwoofer for small rooms. It can get loud and sounds bigger than its size. When we played music, the audio was engaging with clearer instrumental sounds. Cymbals and drum kits sound just as they should be.

Details Review

Monitor Audio Bronze 50 is made of MDF. It uses braces throughout the enclosure to minimize any resonance or vibration that may affect the sound. It comes with a magnetic grille and has a wood grain finish. The décor is aesthetic, durable and easily fits for home or office use. Build quality is good and you can choose from 4 different color options.

Monitor Audio Bronze 50 has 1” C-Cam gold plated tweeter and 5.25” woofer. These unique drivers ensure better directivity and well dispersed sound. The tweeter delivers controlled highs, good tonal balance while ensuring reduced distortion. This tweeter is installed inside a mesh grille and is not open like other standard speaker designs. Like the Silver 100 7G, this model also has gold colored tweeter made from aluminum/magnesium alloy.

This material is also used in the woofer except it is silver colored. It can deliver natural and realistic highs without any major distortion. The lows from 5.25” woofer is rich, full and packs a punch but for compact spaces. On the back side there is a HiVE II bass port. This delivers accurate and boosted bass. The speaker has a good stereo image and shows minute details in contents. It is room-filling and delivers a powerful soundspace around you.

Speaker placement:

You can also place it on the wall via Monitor Audio FIX-M Speaker Mount. Otherwise, use speaker stands or tabletops. Place them 6-10’ apart and create an equilateral triangle with the user. Toe-in and find the best spot. Leave a gap of 6-12” from the back wall and 3 ft from side walls. This is not the ultimate guideline but a general one. You need to move the speakers, perform multiple trial and error and find the best spot within the suggested measurements.

Connectivity and control:

On the rear side of the Monitor Audio Bronze 50 it has high-quality gold-plated binding posts. Use them to connect the speaker to a matching amplifier. It has silver-plated oxygen-free copper internal cabling for smooth transfer. It supports both bi-wiring and bi-amping so you can change the connection type as per your preference. These methods are well known and will improve the overall sound.

Once the amplifier connection is complete, then connect desired audio sources (TV, laptop, CD player, turntable, etc) to the amp and listen to their content via the speaker.

Use case:

Use the speaker for music or for home theater use. It can also be used while playing games. The Bronze 50 is good for small to medium-sized rooms. If you have large spaces, you need to use it as a part of home theater.

Compatible devices:

Choose from our amplifier/receiver list: Schitt Audio Vidar, Cambridge Audio A1Mk3 SE, Yamaha R-N303D. You can also have a look at other models in the market.

Pair it with speakers from Monitor Audio to create a theater system: floorstanding loudspeakers (200 / 500), bookshelf loudspeakers (100), a center-channel loudspeaker (150), a surround loudspeaker (FX), a Dolby Atmos enabled speaker module (AMS), and a powered subwoofer (W10).

For a compact speaker like the Bronze 50, the price is not the cheapest. You can consider this a mid-priced speaker. The overall cost will increase when you add an amplifier and subwoofer.

Monitor Audio Silver 100 7G or Bronze 50, which one should I choose?

Generally speaking, if you have a look at woofer size then the Silver 100 7G from Monitor Audio has a larger driver of 8”. The Bronze 50 has only a 5.25” driver. Silver 100 7G is a bigger speaker than the Bronze 50. For small spaces with space limitations, Bronze 50 is a better choice, and it also costs less than the Silver 100 model. If you have medium to large rooms, the Silver 100 7G will suit you and you will not need an additional subwoofer.

Where should I place a subwoofer with Monitor Audio Bronze 50 speaker?

Place the subwoofer between the speakers on one side of the front wall. You can perform subwoofer crawl technique to find the best spot for the sub in the room.
