Details Review

Design and build:

Klipsch RW-51M Reference Wireless bookshelf speaker has an MDF body with a wood grain finish. It is scratch resistant and seems durable. It uses internal bracing to minimize any resonance and vibration. You can use the included magnetic grille to protect the drivers. Or reveal the drivers as the Klipsch Signature copper spun woofer is attractive and will be easily noticeable.

The RW-51M wireless bookshelf speaker from Klipsch has 1” and 5.25” woofer. It uses LTS Aluminum tweeter made from Kapton. These materials ensure the highs are undistorted and have better resolution. With Tractrix horn, the speaker aims sound directly towards the user. Since it is an active bookshelf speaker, you will not need any external amplifier. It has a built-in amplifier that is quite efficient.

The use of IMG copper woofer ensures the lows are decent, clean, and articulate. They are deep but do not pack a punch. If you use them in small rooms and for near field listening, then the bass might be adequate. The use of WiSA technology eliminates additional amplifier and several wires. On the other hand, it has very low latency and if you are using multiple speakers, then it ensures the sound is perfectly synchronized.

With WiSA, the speakers can transmit 24 bits at 48kHz/96kHz and ensure the performance is twice as better as the CD quality.

Connectivity and control:

You will not need any AV receiver or amplifier for the Klipsch RW-51M speakers. An Axiim LINK Wireless Home Theater transmitter is needed (need to purchase separately) via a 2019 LG OLED or NanoCell TV, an XBox One, PC or Mac. Use the microUSB to USB cable to connect between Link and source. If you have a WiSA Hub, you can use HDMI to HDMI cable to connect between Hub and source (TV, PC).

Choose which device you want to use, connect the Link and use the on-screen menu of the TV for setup. You can also use the LINK mobile app. If you are using the Macbook Pro, then you can use the Audirvana Plus app. If you want to connect other devices like Xbox One, Windows 10, or Mac, then you might need additional equipment as they are not WiSA compatible.

Use case:

Klipsch RW-51M bookshelf speakers are suitable for compact spaces. They can easily be used in small to medium-sized rooms. That said, you can easily upgrade to a home theater for larger spaces. You can use the speakers for music, movies, live streaming, TV shows, etc. It is great for everyday use.

Compatible device:

The speaker works with other speakers of the Klipsch Reference Wireless series: RW-34C center channel speaker, and the RW-100SW wireless subwoofer. You can create a 2.0 stereo system and then extend up to 7.0 system.

Klipsch RW-51M speakers are not the cheapest speakers on the market. You can consider them mid-priced speakers. Although there is no need for additional amplifier, you still need to purchase the Axiim Link.

Why is Klipsch Reference Wireless RW-51M a good choice?

The Klipsch RW-51M speakers are great for users who want to avoid messy wires. You can connect to TV and create a home theater system wirelessly without running wires throughout the room. This is the advantage of choosing the Wireless WiSa compatible RW-51M bookshelf speakers over other active speakers.

How to use the WiSA technology in the Klipsch RW-51M speakers?

You need to buy the Axiim Link transmitter to use the WiSA technology in the Klipsch RW-51M speakers.
