Details Review

Design:

Klipsch signature spun copper woofers are noticeable from distance. Like other Klipsch speakers, it is made of sturdy MDF wood. Build quality is good and durable. Use two stabilizer feet under the speakers to ensure it remains put in one place and any sort of vibration doesn’t add color to the sound.

It will remain safe on hardwood, tile, laminate, and vinyl flooring. The enclosure is scratch-resistant and it gives a modern look. It comes with a black cloth grille that attaches magnetically.

Performance:

Klipsch R-620F floorstanding speaker produces lively and energetic sound. It has two woofers so bass is clean and punchier. Low ends are satisfying while watching movies and music. Movie effects and bass heavy songs jump back to life. The speaker has clear and crisp highs and accurate mids. Voices are loud and clear.

It has tapered crossover that enhances the dispersion within woofer and tweeter. It has a rear-firing Tractrix port so, bass is pure with minimal turbulence. While placing it near a wall, make sure to leave some gap. In case you think the room layout is poor, use materials like diffusers, absorbing panels to improve the room acoustics. This will in turn enhance the sound quality.

You can use the speaker to listen to music, movies, or pair it up with TV to create a theater. The soundstage is wide and powerful. It can deliver balanced and pleasant sound quality. Driver design and material selection is precise which results in great sonic accuracy.

Connectivity:

Connectivity options depends on the amp you are using. In case you want to create a home theater, make sure the amp supports rears and subwoofer along with center channel.

Use case:

The R-620F floorstanding speakers are ideal to place in mid-sized rooms that measure 100-220 sq. ft. Since they are floorstanding speakers, you need to have enough space in your room. If you are using them as main speakers, leave a 6-15 ft gap between them.

Compatible device:

Along with regular amplifiers, the speaker will work with tube amplifier that have low power. This is because with 8ohms impedance, it is easy to drive. As long as power and impedance matches, you can choose any brand like Yamaha (R-S202), Sony (STR-DN1080), Denon (AVR-S760H), etc.

It works with bookshelf speakers (Klipsch R-41M/R-51M), center channel (Klipsch R-34C/ R-52C), Surround (Klipsch R-14S), Floor-standing speakers (Klipsch R-610F/R-820F) and Powered subwoofers (Klipsch R-10SW/R-12SW).

Ease of use:

Klipsch R-620F is a set of passive speakers so you need to use the amp to control it. That said, if you are a newbie, connecting an amplifier with the speaker might feel difficult for the first time.

Cost:

The cost is reasonable for a pair of floorstanding speakers. Since you are looking for passive speakers, you need to have a good budget. Once you include an amplifier, center channel or a sub, the price will increase further.
