Performance:

Kanto TUK is a pair of good quality powered speakers that uses Class D amplifier. It has Air Motion Transducer tweeter that are lightweight and responds more quickly than traditional tweeters. Instead of having a circular shaped tweeter, it is a rectangle. This eliminated reflections off ceiling and walls. The highs are bright but not harsh or fatiguing.

In case you think, the sound needs tweaking, you can the option use the EQ options. You can control the bass and treble (-6dB to + 6 dB) based on your room size and music taste. Although the speakers are not very large, the bass is there and present. It has 5.25” aluminum woofer that is rigid and eliminates any sort of distortion. We listened to different music tracks, the precision and clarity of the bass from such compact speakers is amazing.

Kanto TUK is a pair of energetic speakers that can handle music of different genre quite well. However, the balance and dynamics are average. It uses DSP to improve the sound in terms of clarity and accuracy. It has active low pass filter and passes lower frequencies (below 80 Hz) to the subwoofer. While placing them, keep them 8” away from the rear wall.

The speakers come with a remote control which is quite handy. It has several options including input selection, volume up/down, mute, bass and treble up/down, play/pause, forward, backward, reset button and etc.

Compatible device:

The Kanto TUK speakers are compatible with Kanto Sub 6 or 8. Since they are active speakers, it will not need additional amplifier.

Use case:

Kanto TUK is decent enough to use in most cases. You can pair it with your TV and improve the built-in TV speaker performance. Place them on desktop and connect them to the PC. Use desktop speaker stands in this case. Place the TUKs in small to medium sized rooms to enjoy impactful audio. They are great for apartment users who do not want to disturb their neighbors.

Kanto TUK are not cheap speakers; they are available under $1000. Since you do not need to spend extra on amplifiers, the total cost will not increase.
