Details Review

Design:

Jamo C 93 II belongs to the Concert 9 series. It is bigger than the C 91 II model. Material and design remain similar but there is a difference in performance and cost. The C 93 II Jamo speaker has MDF cabinet with wood grain finish and satin front baffle. It focuses on reducing vibration that may have poor impact on sound. Available rubber feet allow them to sit firmly without slipping or scratching the surface.

It comes with a woven tweed grille that attaches magnetically to the speakers. Place them on open shelves, tabletops, or speaker stands.

Performance:

Jamo Concert 9 Series C 93 II 2-way Bass reflex speaker has 1” tweeter and 6” woofer. A silk dome tweeter with Anti diffraction grille delivers crisp, clear, and rich highs. The speaker has well controlled sound dispersion. It has good soundstage and imaging. It has a broad sweet spot. Woofer drivers have good stiffness due to HCCC material.

It has Long Displacement Surround that is responsible for clean and tight bass. 6” driver is large enough to deliver punchier bass in medium sized rooms. In most cases you will not need any additional subwoofer. A bass port on the rear side will boost the lows even further. It will also reduce port noise. The speakers deliver dynamic and room-filling sound. Jamo C 93 II is a real piece of art available at an affordable price.

Speaker placement:

Place the Jamo C 93 II speakers 6 ft apart. Angle them inwards (toe-in) to create an equilateral triangle with the user. Leave a gap from the rear wall as they have bass port on the back of the speaker. Use tables or stands to ensure they are at ear level. You can also use them as side surrounds or rear speakers. For sides, place them 6’ above the ground. For rear placement, set them behind the users.

You are also free to mount them on walls. It has a mounting hole behind the speaker, use the self-adhesive rubber bumpers to protect the speakers in this case.

Connectivity and control:

Since Jamo C 93 II is a set of passive speakers, you will need an additional amplifier or AV receiver to connect audio sources. Match a suitable amp by checking the specs of impedance and power range of the speaker. During connection make sure to match the color codes like red to red and black to black. Control options vary from amplifier to amplifier. Some come with basic remotes, others support voice assistants or mobile apps.

Use case:

Use the speaker for turntable, PC, TV, or stream content from online. You can also connect a CD player, Blu-ray player, etc. They are best for medium-sized rooms but are also suitable for large spaces. However, we suggest at least a 3.1 setup in large spaces, especially if you want to use the speakers for movies.

Compatible device:

The following list shows some matching amp/receiver: Cambridge Azur 851a, Yamaha CR receiver, Niles SI-2100 amplifier, Yamaha R-N602, Emotiva TA1, etc.

For a home theater choose from the following speaker list: Jamo floorstanding loudspeakers (C 95 II / C 97 II), bookshelf loudspeakers (C 91 II), center channel loudspeaker (C 9 CEN II), surround loudspeakers (C 9 SUR II) and powered subwoofers (C 910 / C 912).

Cost:

Jamo C 93 II is costlier than the Jamo C 91 II. However, they are still affordable and not overpriced. At this price point, the build and sound quality is amazing.

FAQ:

What should I do if I want to customize the Jamo Concert 9 Series C 93 II sound or don’t like it?

If you think these speakers don’t sound as you expected, allow them to play through break-in period. Then use EQ options to adjust the bass and treble of the speaker.

Jamo C 93 II vs C 91 II, which is better?

Jamo C 93 II has bigger cabinet and larger woofer driver compared to the C 91 II model. This means the sound is an upgrade and the C 93 II will show better performance.
