They sound bigger than their size. The speakers have great value and can handle most types of content very well. They have good fidelity and decent imaging. These speakers are great for users with tight budgets. For large spaces go for a 5.1 or 7.1 theater system.

Our Verdict

Jamo C 91 II is a 2-way bass reflex speaker. You will need good power to run these speakers so make sure to choose a matching amp. They reveal minute details and are a set of pleasant-sounding speakers. They have good sound field, and you can upgrade it to 5.1 for immersive room-filling sound. Details Review

C 91 II belongs to the Jamo Concert 9 series II. It has an MDF body with wood grain finish. It has a low-profile design and is perfect for modern homes. The speaker can be covered with removable magnetic tweed cloth grille. It includes self-adhesive rubber feet so they do not slip off any surface and can eliminate vibration from affecting the performance. This model is available in three different color options.

Jamo C 91 II has 1” tweeter and 4” woofer. The silk dome tweeter along with anti-diffraction waveguide delivers smooth, rich, and dynamic highs. HCCC woofer has similar stiffness like aluminum or titanium. It has Long Displacement Surround (LDS) that produces tight, efficient, and clean bass. That said, we suggest you not to expect deep and punchier bass from a 4” woofer driver and to go for an additional subwoofer via the amplifier.

To enhance the bass further, you will see a bass port on the rear side of the speaker. These speakers can produce room-filling sound in small spaces. The sound accuracy remains uniform at every position of the room. They sound great at all volumes. In case you think the performance sounds dull, then use the EQ options of the amp or receiver to adjust the bass or treble.

Use it as front stereo or rear speakers in a home theater. When placed on the front side, create a triangle with equal distance between the speaker and speaker to user. It is suggested to keep a gap of 6’ and make sure they are at ear level height. For surround speaker, make sure they are 6’ above the floor. In the rear setup, place them behind the user, the distance between the speakers should be longer than front setup.

Unlike other speakers it doesn’t support bi-amp or bi-wire. The connection posts are of good quality. Make sure to match the color codes as you connect them to the amplifier.

Connectivity and control:

You will need an additional amplifier and receiver to connect audio sources like TV, PC, Laptop, consoles, CD player, Bluray player, turntable to the speaker.

Use case:

Jamo C 91 II is best for small rooms or near-field listening. Use the speakers for PC setup and place them on your desktop. Also, Jamo offers floorstanding, center speakers and subwoofer so that you do not have to look elsewhere for a home theater.

Compatible device:

You can choose one from the following: Fosi 30bt, Pioneer Elite VSX90, Sony STR-DH590, Yamaha S-201, Denon AVR-S760H, etc. Some other popular brands are Onkyo, Dayton Audio, Yamaha, Denon, Marantz, etc.

Connect speakers from the following Jamo speakers: floorstanding loudspeakers (C 95 II / C 97 II), two bookshelf loudspeakers (C 93 II), center channel loudspeaker (C 9 CEN II), and surround loudspeakers (C 9 SUR II). Do not forget about the powered subwoofer (S808SW / S810SW).

Jamo C 91 II is a budget-friendly pair of passive speakers. You can now spend more after amplifier and sub.

Where should I place the subwoofer for Jamo C 91 II?

Place the subwoofer at the front side of the room beside the speaker or on one corner. For better results, perform subwoofer crawl technique. This involves placing the subwoofer at different locations, then lowering your ear at knee level to find out the best spot.

Bookshelf speaker or floorstanding speaker, which is powerful?

Bookshelf speakers like Jamo C 91 II are more powerful than expected. They deliver a bigger sound from compact body and hence is best for modern homes with tight spaces. That said, comparing floorstanding speakers vs bookshelf speaker, floorstanding speakers are powerful. They have bigger cabinets, larger drivers and are best for tight spaces.
