Dynaudio Evoke 20 is a 2-way bookshelf speaker. It is sturdy and well built. The speaker looks ‘perfect’ with good polishing and finishing. It has damping and bracing to minimize any resonance. Front panel is made of Computerized Numerical Control machining. It has a bass reflex enclosure. To cover the drivers, you can use removable magnetic grille. On the rear side, there is gold plated binding terminals that

Dynaudio Evoke 20 is a standard sized bookshelf speaker. It has detailed highs and low ends packs a punch. It has soft dome tweeter diaphragm and inside it there is tweeter dome. This well-engineered design ensures well controlled and precise high ends. There are two ports on the rear side of this bass reflex speaker. This boosts the low ends further. You can use the foam plugs in the ports as well.

In that case, when you place it near walls, the speakers will deliver tight sound. Pair a subwoofer like Dynaudio Sub 3 or Sub 6 with the speaker to enjoy punchier low ends. The drivers have Strontium Carbonate Ferrite and Magnet System. This is known to improve the sensitivity and power. The speaker goes through hours of testing and playback sessions to make sure you get the right product. This is done in Jupiter, a measuring setup of Dynaudio.

It has high-grade 2nd order crossover system resulting in smoother transition. They can produce room-filling sound with powerful impact. Listen to music or movies and enjoy the punchier low ends. Like other models, there are passive speakers it can be used as stereo speaker or as a part of home theater. While placing, keep them 6-13’ apart and make sure they are elevated at ear level.

The speaker to user distance should be slightly longer than the speaker to speaker distance. If you place them beside TVs, make sure they are 2” to 2 feet away from the screen. Place them on speaker stands, like Pangea speaker stands so that they are at ear level.

Connectivity and control:

This depends on the chosen amplifier as the Evoke 20 is a passive speaker.

Use case:

Use the Dynaudio Evoke 20 is great for medium sized spaces. It can play music and movies very well. But we suggest connecting a subwoofer via the amp for impactful bass. It can handle wide variety of music genre including classic rock, blues, jazz and vocal music. It can ‘decently’ fill up large spaces as well.

Create a home theater by pairing speakers as per your preference: floorstanding loudspeakers (Evoke 50 / Evoke 30), bookshelf loudspeakers (Evoke 10), and a center-channel loudspeaker (Evoke 25C).

Dynaudio Evoke 20 is a high-end bookshelf speaker. Unlike other models from Polk or Elac, it is expensive and will only suit you if you don’t have any budget issue.

Why should you choose Dynaudio Evoke 20 over floorstanding speakers?

Floorstanding speakers take up space in your room whereas bookshelf speakers like Dynaudio Evoke 20 is compact. It will fit into living rooms, compact spaces, small office rooms, etc. They will also give you a cleaner look if you place them on desktop tables, shelves, etc.

How to improve Dynaudio Evoke 20 speaker performance?

In order to enhance the Evoke 20s’ sound quality, make sure you put attention on room acoustics. Room layout, size and objects in it will play crucial role in performance. Use materials to improve the acoustics if needed.
