Details Review

Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 has good looks and build quality. It is made of MDF and designed to eliminate vibration that can color the sound. The outer body has wood-grain vinyl finish. A removable cloth grille is included. It will blend in easily in living room, office room or recording spaces.

Comparing Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 vs B6.2, the B5.2 model is a bit smaller in size and is more affordable. They vary in terms of other features like senility, frequency response and overall performance. The Elac Debut 2.0 B6.2 gets lots of praise for its sound quality but the B5.2 isn’t too bad either. Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 has tweeter with wide roll surround along with waveguide that ensures better directivity.

Instrumental sounds are handled pretty well so consider this model good for music. Movies sound great as well but a sub and center channel will be the best choice. The speakers might be a bit lacking while producing warm tone but the sound is quite balanced and pleasing. It has a bass port on the front side so you can place them near walls or in bookshelves without compromising performance. It can produce smoother low frequency extension.

The bass is decent compared to the speaker size but not punchier. It is clean and not boomy. This is expected from this compact size, so a subwoofer would be good for bass heads. Place them on any flat surface or stands to make sure they are at height levels. Other than this, the placement isn’t fussy. The sound remains good regardless their ‘toe-in’ position.

Any audio source can be connected if you choose the amp correctly. Based on the type of devices (turntables, TV, PC, laptop, CD player, etc) you can to connect, make sure the amp has those ports. Expand the system into a home theater by pairing speakers from the following as per need: bookshelf loudspeakers (DB52/DB62), two center-channel loudspeakers (DC52/DC62), a Dolby Atmos enabled loudspeaker (DA42), and two powered subs (S10EQ/S12EQ).

Use case:

The Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 is best for small to medium sized rooms. It is best for music but can also be used for movies, shows, podcasts or games. Most music genre are handled pretty well.

The Debut 2.0 B5.2 will work with Monoprice hybrid tube amp, Aiyima a07 or Aiyima T09, Cambridge audio axa35, Fosi BT20A-s, Marantz PM6007 or Rega Brio. We have listed some of the matching amps, you can choose within the list or match a different one based on your preference and budget.

Ease of use:

Passive speakers are easy to use but active ones are much easier, especially for newbies. To control the Debut 2.0 B5.2, you need to be familiar with amp control options.

Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 is cheap and affordable.

Can I place Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 is large rooms?

Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 can be used as stereo speaker in large rooms but we suggest not to go for 2.0 setup. We recommend to create at least a 3.1 system for spacious rooms. A 5.1 or 5.1.2 system will be the best choice.

Do I need professional help to install the Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2?

If you have zero knowledge about amps and sound systems, you might need professional help. However, we think it’s a rare case as the user manual has detailed instruction about connection, connector type and all other information.
