Pro Audio Technology designs loudspeakers and DSP-programmable amplifier systems for residential construction and renovation. This week the company released the Pro Audio Technology LFC-12v subwoofer. PRO’s new high-sensitivity architectural subwoofer is equipped with a 12-inch, 700W driver and has a maximum output of 117dB SPL. What’s impressive is that it does all this with just a 6-inch deep cabinet that fits into any northern stud wall cavity, double wall, or ceiling.
The 12-inch driver used in the Pro Audio Technology LFC-12v sub employs a high-powered motor system with an over-sized, four-inch voice coil. PRO claims that the voice coil design promotes heat dissipation, improving the thermal stability of the driver so that it can play longer and louder without fatigue. The subwoofer has four front-firing ports to extend the low frequency output and volume of the LFC-12v subwoofer.

The LFC-12v’s enclosure is 14-inches wide, making it perfect for any standard stud cavity width, and the depth of design is purposefully ample so that this subwoofer can function as the primary subwoofer in any media and multi-purpose room—particularly one with limited space. The Pro Audio technology LFC-12v Subwoofer is designed to be used with PRO’s DSP driven amplifier/processors. Once installed, you can select either 300, 450, or 1000 watts per channel to drive the subwoofer. The LFC-12v has a sensitivity rating of 96dB SPL @1W/m.
