Grace Primo Internet radio Network Streaming Players

Grace Digital Primo Internet Radio GDI-IRCA700

Grace Digital makes a lot of wireless Internet radios, and their newest is the new Grace Digital Primo Wi-Fi Media Streamer. Grace Digital has been a bit hit and miss, mostly due to its interface which has seen some upgrades and updates over the years but still remains a bit clunkier than some of the newer, more intuitive interfaces. The Grace Digital Primo is not short on features, however. The Internet radio provides access to over 50,000 radio stations, podcasts and on demand content. You can access all of that content using the control knob provided, or by using an iPhone or Touch remote. The Grace Digital Primo doesn’t have any integrated speakers, so it’s designed to be connected directly to an existing home audio system. The Grace Primo sets up easily, however, you just connect to a local Wi-Fi network and proceed to stream from your DLNA-compatible music server, or grab tunes from services like Pandora, Live365, SiriusXM, or Rhapsody.

The Grace Digital Primo includes a nice color LCD display that lets you read what’s playing (or select stations or tracks), but you’ll definitely want to use your iPhone to do most of the “heavy lifting” as it will be much more convenient and will provide a more “direct access” approach as opposed to the endless-directory methodology of the Grace Digital interface. The new Primo seems to combine the company’s Solo with their Mondo product to come up with a new, sleek desktop streaming device.

On the back of the Grace Digital Primo you’ll find a pair of RCA jacks and a USB port for charging a mobile device or for playing back music stored on a flash drive. You can also use it with the optional Grace Digital USB to Ethernet Adapter in the event you don’t have access to a wireless network. The included Grace Remote Control application lets you control not just the Primo, but other Grace Digital Internet Radios with your iOS or Android device—should you be one of those who has purchased other products from the company. The remote app lets you adjust volume, skip tracks, select radio stations, and powering the device on and off.
